Any recommendations for a very good spa hotel breaks for 2? Midlands/North England ideally.. It has been ages since my husband and I been away alone, happy with a generous budget.

I have heard good things about Titanic Spa near Huddersfield.

Iwonder08 · 24/10/2021 11:17

Thank you, some great ideas! Has anyone been to Ragdale Hall in Leicestershire?

Yes. Loved it.

Isababybel · 24/10/2021 14:58

I came to recommend Ragdale. Its lovely.
I do remember looking at how much overnight stays are though and recall it was eye watering!!

RampantIvy · 24/10/2021 17:20

Yes, it was £££ when we went, but it was for my 40th birthday.

The food was absolutely gorgeous.

LeuvenMan · 24/10/2021 17:29

As a man, I also love Ragdale Hall, as does my wife, but as other posters say, it's eye wateringly expensive.
If you both like walking, Losehill Spa Hotel is in a fabulous location (though less facilities) and amazing food.
I've heard good things about the new Buxton Spa Hotel, but we've not been yet

PaperMonster · 24/10/2021 17:41

Crow wood - but it is in Burnley.

SpeckyWithTheGoodHair · 24/10/2021 17:42

I love the Belfry

BarbaraofSeville · 24/10/2021 17:55

YY to Crow wood in Burnley. Wins loads of awards and easy to see why.

The Titanic is not a patch on it, and while Rudding Park is lovely it attracts too many of the 'look at me Insta crowd' so if you're irritated by people that never fucking shut up posing around champagne bottles pissing around with their phones, you'll probably explode with rage within the hour.

HereWeGoAgains · 24/10/2021 18:15

Ragdale or Eden Hall.

PaperMonster · 24/10/2021 18:25

Also Coniston Hotel in N Yorks.

WinniePig · 24/10/2021 18:38

Grantley Hall? Obscenely expensive unless you go midweek. We’ve booked Swinton Park for mid week break between Christmas and New Year. It was a toss up between that and Rudding Park which also looks lovely.

Iwonder08 · 24/10/2021 19:27

Wow.. Grantley Hall looks amazing but it makes all the others look like an absolute bargain.. £2k for 2 nights.. Checking all the other hotels..

@WinniePig you will love Swinton park it's a new spa and the service was first class soooo jealous xx

WinniePig · 25/10/2021 19:18

Just to add…I’ve not been to Grantley Hall but seen it recommended in The Times!! Went to Swinton Park for a Spa Day a couple of years ago and it was lovely. Classy and understated. Really looking forward to our post Christmas break 😊 But what is it with the price of weekend getaways?? Looked into booking an autumn break for DH and I and couldn’t find anything for less than a grand. Prices seriously out of whack at the moment. DSIL recommends Rockcliffe Hall.
