Loads of courses on linkedin learning

You'll find similar, but mostly not as good on youtube.

MrsFin · 23/10/2021 17:54

How much of Excel do you want to learn? There's quite a lot of it, and I'd imagine the same goes for Publisher.

KeflavikAirport · 23/10/2021 18:02

YouTube tutorials

Opal8 · 23/10/2021 18:19

Just enough to be competent for admin purposes

Just install and go. There are Pitman courses you can do or other courses at local college. Otherwise good 'ole YouTube comes up trumps but you need to know what you want to do on it to get anywhere.

PerfectPuppy · 23/10/2021 18:37

What sort of tasks would you be looking today? You can do courses online which will give a good overview

PerfectPuppy · 23/10/2021 18:37

To do not today Grin

Compiling orders of service for meetings
Possibly a newsletter
Being in charge of someone's diary

I'll have to get busy on YouTube:)

Diary management will be outlook, not excel or publisher

Opal8 · 23/10/2021 20:19

Oh of course 🙈

There are a lot of great Excel tutorials online - Google very specifically what you want to do and you'll find what you need.

I imagine it's the same for Outlook and Publisher, though I've never used any. Publisher is pretty intuitive, however.

Orders of service for meetings Confused Do you mean agendas?

You'd need Word for that.

But as other said just play around with them and see what you can do. Web versions are free.

SoniaFouler · 23/10/2021 20:34

Didn’t know people still used Publisher these days to be honest.

Opal8 · 23/10/2021 20:46

It's diocesan so orders of service us the correct term

I imagine publisher is a fancy version of word! :)

It's not no. Seriously just download them and see what you can do.
pointythings · 23/10/2021 21:01

Sonia Publisher is pretty useful if you can't afford or install other options (I work in the NHS and both those constraints apply to me).

I use it a lot to build flowcharts. I'm finally in a position to get Visio through my employer if I want to, but frankily by now I'm so used to doing it all in Publisher that there wouldn't really be any benefit.

OP, Publisher is nothing like Word - it does completely different things.

Redpriestandmozart · 23/10/2021 21:07

I've had to use Excel this year for the first time, I will be getting trained officially in a few weeks but I have just been using Youtube tutorials. I am only doing very basic and starting at the very beginning but I'm quite impressed at how quickly I am learning it and enjoying it.

I used this course, I find him very easy to listen to.
