Cheap places to eat in Manchester City centre ?

nattybattyy · 23/10/2021 17:45

I'm taking my partner out for a meal in Manchester next weekend.
I've said I will pay for a meal.
I only have around £60-£70 Spare for food.
Can anyone recommend any nice places ?
Maybe Italians or anything really ?
Within budget
Special offers etc

There are loads of places at that price point. For a Sunday roast, I'd recommend The Northern Quarter Restaurant - it's about £20 for a two-course meal and amazing! For italian, I've heard San Giovanini is good or Salvatore near M&S.

Croma

Rudy’s for pizza or Pasta Factory for pasta. Both incredible!

Blueeyedgirl21 · 23/10/2021 20:20

Rudy’s in ancoats for sure. 2 pizzas and 2 beers and a shared dessert for about £30 then go to Jane Eyre across the square for a cocktail with the remainder.

Pasta Factory or Noi Quattro! Noi Quattro does pizzas like Rudy’s but always seems to be a little bit quieter which is good if you don’t have a reservation!

bookish83 · 23/10/2021 20:43

Noi quattro is delicious. Really really good find just set back in the NQ

Another vote for Croma, Piccolino over the Road from there is also good.

Croma’s tandoori chicken pizza....so good....

I don’t live in Manchester anymore and not sure if it’s still open/survived but Dough in the Northern Quarter was always good and pretty cheap. It was shut last time I visited.

Franco Manca pizza 🍕

San Carlo is lovely if you want Italian, your budget is fine if you aren't drinking much.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 23/10/2021 21:04

San Carlo was a massive massive disappointment

WhatFreshHellisCis · 23/10/2021 21:07

Luck lust is lovely
Some of the places mentioned are £££, why don’t people read the OP?!

There’s a san Carlo in Birmingham and if it’s anything like that one, avoid!
