I bought DS some pasta for his lunch at a train station yesterday as part of a long journey.

'Do you want sauce?'

'No thank you, just plain with a bit of butter please'

'Do you want meat?'

'No, he's had a bit of an upset tummy he just wants it plain, thank you'

handed small pot of plain pasta

'That's £5.80 please'

Shock how many bags of 45p fusilli could I buy with that. It was too late to do anything about it as it was cooked and being handed to me.

Another time me and DH once ordered an omelette from a cafe opposite our house because we didn't fancy cooking. The bill came for two omelettes- £19 GrinGrin

Gosh that's expensive!

Hmm in my opinion, probably expensive designer clothes for babies 🙈

Afternoon tea this week. Sandwiches equivalent to two slices of bread each, fillings were nice. two scones, jam and cream, selection of 3 tiny other cakes each but nothing special. Cost around £46 for two. I know we were paying for the location/ name but I really can't get the cost out of my head !

I bought my kids a couple of milkshakes for toddlers in a local bookshop cafe years ago. They had 2 each (as I stupidly assumed they wouldn't be expensive). It was Crusha milkshake syrup stirred into an IKEA plastic cup of milk (so v. small and not at all fancy). I was charged £7.20 so £1.80 per tiny cup!

Fish finger sandwiches from a pub and a drink each best part of £30.

Tobacco.
Dogs- I'm not anti dog. Just they're so high maintenance and expensive. Yet so many people think they're entitled to own them.
Tattoos.
Fireworks.
Lottery tickets scratch cards- usually pensioners or people on benefits spunking money on lots of them.
Taxis.

Agree about the fireworks. They seem to be setting them off 52 weeks a year where I live. Hmm
Detest the things. How much must it cost per Bang?!🤔

Ordered quiche and salad once in a cafe in a park..£8… a triangular slice of quiche and green leaves (probably of a nearby tree). Every time I used to get a cup of tea out and it cost over 50p (every time then) I say what a rip off for a tea bag, water and a splash of milk,

‘cost over 50p (every time then) I say what a rip off for a tea bag, water and a splash of milk,’

What about the cost of equipment used to make it, the cost of the premises, the electricity, wages, profit, tax, insurance, business rates, health & safety checks & regulations , cleaning costs ….

50p is really reasonable for a cup of tea surely?

Agree with all bar the dogs as on the fence with that one as for some people a pet is very good for mental health so would exclude shelter adopted animals. I’d add alcohol, getting a prescription for something that can be purchased over the counter and buying extras in video games.
