Which Motherland character are you?

For me - Julia... All of the place, disorganised, needing mum's help with childcare, multi tasking stress head lol!

I love the response to this thread. So many fellow Motherland fans. It is my most favourite programme on TV.

My ds is 3 and my dd is 4 months so I haven't even got to the school gate parenting stage yet. Although, I am a primary school teacher so I see it from the other side, haha.

I loved Julia's last minute birthday party for her daughter. That is so me! I recently put a party together for my ds in a couple of hours before it began I can definitely identify with Julia's chaotic life.

Also love the character of Liz. As someone said to her, she is just on the right side of give a fuck. Lol!

I got Meg. It’s partly accurate but I think I’m more of a people pleaser than Meg sadly.

I got Julia which is a shame because I think she's awful! 😩 tbh they're all not great people though are they?

I do think Motherland is very funny, but I lost all sympathy for Julia the moment she rose to Amanda's jibe about Pizza Hut parties/

I got Kevin. Which baffles me as I thought I would be a Liz. Although I wouldn't mind getting Kevin's dedication to parties and school/nursery stuff as I feel this is not an area I thrive in!

I had to stop watching this show. As much as I found elements of it funny I just can’t stand Julia. She’s so self centred. I got cross watching it!
I love the other characters though.

Surprised that people don't like Julia. I thought you were supposed to feel sorry for her because she's so stressed from juggling and she turns to her DM out of desperation mainly because she gets no support from her useless 'I'd rather be off cycling' DH?

And I'm not sure Anne being a high flyer is that believable TBH as if she was, surely she wouldn't take so much shit from Amanda because she'd be a strong, capable person instead of the wet lettuce that she's portrayed as?

Julia in terms of juggling work and life and Anne in terms of my level of gravitas

I got Julia I’m the quiz. Which I’m not sure I completely agree with. Probably because I get stressed, but I really struggle to ask for help or accept help at all. And I rarely forget school events. So just the stressed part of Julia. Think I’m a little bit of Liz , once I’m in a comfortable environment I definitely go into fuck it mode. And a bit of Meg, I can be straight talking.

I think that was probably the idea with Julia originally, but her character has become very selfish as the series have gone on. I know her husband has too, but they really need to sort out their relationship rather than taking it out on Julia’s mum. Julia is very self pitying.

I got Julia and she's the one I would have most identified with anyways. I've not seen many episodes but sympathise with Julia the most.

Thought I would be Liz (love her attitude and have friends who are definitely more like her) but then realised I will always have sweets in/provide last minute dinner for visiting kids, always have a halloween display (even if its a bit rubbish and homemade) and try to help friends when needed.
I'm definitely not as soft as him though so irl probably Kevin/Liz crossover.

Such a clever programme but so uncomfortable to watch sometimes. makes me so glad we got out of London before having children!

Julia - I am chaotic but good at winging it.

I am also desperately shit at organising anything to do with my kids school diaries/play dates/parties.

Is it just me or is the 3rd series confusingly short ? It didn't seem to finish after the last episode and the other two series were longer...

I thought everyone wanted to be Liz!

Got Julia, some of which is true. She's a knob but I like the fact that all the characters are idiots and the supposed lead is selfish and ridiculous. And yes she's too demanding of her mum but she does also look after her and convert her bathroom. Just not in a loving or nice way.
