Waking up early before everyone else and having a big cup of tea and a read of a magazine or book in peace. Then tasty breakfast cooked by DH before going into town to do some shopping. Lunch in a fancy restaurant and the home to unpack the shoes shopping.

Then a nice long walk before coming home to a (magically cooked by someone) else roast dinner. Snuggling up in front of the TV with the fire on before an early night with DH Grin

The Sun shining over the Pacific. Me and dh having brunch with a flat white. We take Ddog for a long hillside walk followed by afternoon sex and a nap. Dinner with friends, laughs well into the night. Children with their Nana so I know they're happy and looked after.

Get up quite early, we all go out to one of our local towns for library and a big walk. DH has made a tv-standard packed lunch. I remembered to bring flasks.
Go home, play games, tea is already made (glossing over the washing up). Watch a jolly documentary (House Through Time currently) before the youngest says voluntarily ''I'm going up to read'.

My 16yo self is completely Hmm

Wake up naturally, without my alarm going off. Someone has magically selected clothes that I look and feel great in.

I pop to the gym for a swim and then catch a taxi to a busy, bustling coffee shop and plonk myself down in a giant, comfy arm chair with several, magazines and my book. At some point I order lunch - one of those really nice salads with lots of roasted veg with seeds and heirloom tomatoes in it which cost a small fortune. Arrive home to find the house spotless and my hobby set up ready for me to launch into that for the afternoon. DP magically appears saying he's cooking a giant pasta dish with lashings of wine and a homemade cheesecake for dessert. We fall into bed and have amazing sex... and the wet patch ends up on his side of the bed Wink

I used to love, pre covid, going on conferences to London,I’d get there early the day before and have a whole day to myself. Go to see a museum or exhibition, lunch somewhere Japanese on my own, bit of a shop, dinner somewhere lovely and then the theatre. And a whole hotel bed to myself.

A quiet, peaceful start to the day. The day will be dry so that the dogs don't come back from their walk all soggy, and neither does DH. We don't go out anywhere as that would stress my disabled DH; instead our day is peaceful, quiet and filled with love at home.

A gentle morning with the daily chores going well and quickly. I will have made a big curry the day before and just need to pop the slow cooker on so all I have to do for dinner is the rice (which has to be the black Thai rice). Ice cream for dessert (DH's fave is hazelnut swirl).

DS and DIL come round for a while and include DH in the chat even though he is slow to answer and can garble his words a bit.

The day stays dry so that the dogs get their long walk in the dry and are happy.

DH is calm and content and sleeps well.

Not an exciting day but it works for us.

I’m hoping today might come close.
Coffee in bed
Long bath with Neals Yard bubbles
A mooch around town
‘Posh’ lunch
Art gallery
Home for cheese and biscuits with Strictly

Shutting myself away in a cabin in the woods with a stack of books, tea and chocolate. And my yoga mat.

It would involve a lie in, a train journey and a swim. Maybe an old friend I haven't seen in a while.
Once I got a taxi from a town in Peru to a waterfall. Trekked up and swam alone, back down, walked to a big open air pool and met the taxi in the agreed time and place to take me back into town. That was a perfect day.
Once I cycled to a beach in France and went swimming. That was perfect too.
And many days of my first mat leave with my baby boy were perfect just because I wanted to be with him so much.
