Tassimo or Dolce Gusto?

I bought a DG machine from Facebook marketplace a few weeks ago for a fiver, but I like the sound of a lot of the Tassimo drinks! I discovered the DG doesn't have very many flavoured drinks (for example I only discovered they discontinued Mochas after I'd looked for them in every possible shop Hmm ), whereas Tassimo seems to have lots more choice. However I've heard people say Tassimo drinks aren't quite as nice and frothy as DG...

I have Tassimo machines! 2 - one is in the bedroom!! Absolutely love their Macchiatos & lattes! Definitely have a wider choice of drinks. And Asda do an offer of 3 packs of drinks for £10. 😋. I'm now going to make a Costa latte 😊👍🏼

Ahh we don't have an Asda! Tesco sometimes have good offers on the DG ones though

Have you looked on Amazon for DG compatible pods? There are lots of flavours /different options.

We have both and the dolce gusto drinks are more frothy and taste better. They do a good variety and many of the coffees are Starbucks branded on. The hot chocolate is way superior than the Tassimo Cadbury one. Asda do 2 boxes for £6

I've noticed that b&m sell a lot of Dolce Gusto pods... it's made me wonder about getting one just for that tbh. We already have a Nespresso and wish you could get hot chocolate pods for that

I admit to being a coffee snob and wouldn't have any of these machines at home. But when travelling (using hotels or AirBNBs) I use the ones provided and Dolce Gusto tastes MUCH better than Tassimo. Nespresso tastes better than both of them but between DG and Tassimo, Tassimo comes way way at the bottom in terms of taste.

I think lakeland and aldi do a nespresso AND DG machine.

Thanks but I'm not really interested in Nespresso. I looked at their website, that's a lot of different ways to say black coffee Confused

I have a DG and mainly use Americano pods because the sweet ones are too addictive.
They do a Starbucks Caramel Macchiato that is delicious, also Milky Way hot chocolate.
I buy them in Aldi when they appear and then ask my DH to hide them.
I went through a box of the hot chocolate on my own in one weekend!

I've got a dolce gusto and had a tassimo at work. Definitely prefer DG.

I found the cappuccinos tiny from the tassimo, could fit 2 in my cup.

DG compatible pods there's a huge range from other brands, and I like the iced drink options they do too - don't know if tassimo do those?

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 24/10/2021 09:54

@ColitisSucks no you can't get Tassimo compatible pods apparently (or so Google tells me) because they have barcodes on to tell the machine how to make it.

I mainly want mochas, I was gutted when I found out DG discontinued them 😢 So if anyone can point me in the direction of DG compatible mocha pods I'll be happy!
