UTI?

FragileLikeABomb · 22/10/2021 13:54

I have symptoms of a UTI but when the doctor did a sample, it came back negative. So it’s showing no sign of infection.

How can I manage it? It’s constant pressure. I feel like I need to wee all the time. /:

Has anyone had uti symptoms but everything ok with regards to their urine sample. /:

I would have a chat to a pharmacist, they could advise, some even prescribe for UTI’s now.

Did the Dr dip it or actually send it to the lab to see if anything grew?

Is it worth trying something like this?

Have you taken paracetamol? If things do get worse over the weekend contact out of hours. I hope it eases soon for you.

@HazelandChacha thank you for getting back to me and all the info, that’s very kind.

It was sent to the lab. /:

This is the third one I’ve had since end of July, all with the same symptoms. I’m worried it could be IC. I’m hoping not. /: x

I used to get a lot of these and the urology consultant I got sent to said the lab tests are only about 50% inaccurate and if you have the classic symptoms you should be prescribed antibiotics. This was after my GP wouldn't give me antibiotics as my sample came back OK and it turned into a really bad infection and left me with chronic nerve pain.

@Piapiano aye, she wouldn’t give me any. She did on Tuesday when I rang but after getting the results back, she refused to. /:

It’s so so annoying and uncomfortable. /: it doesn’t hurt when I pee, but constant fullness or the feeling of feeling full.

Go on to the super drug website - your can get anti-bio’s sent to you. Scary but true. I always have an emergency pack on stand-by in the bathroom.

Push for a referral - I went to a consultant & after a lot of tests, it turns out that I had an infection elsewhere & the recurring uti’s were a secondary symptom of that.
