If you're dressing up for Halloween....

What are you dressing up as?

Dh and I are going to an actual grown up party on Halloween weekend. I love dressing up but it's been ages since I've been to a party with main participants being over the age of 3 and need inspiration!

(Fwiw I love Halloween and dressing up in general and am not on board with the "sexy" costumes - Halloween is meant to be scary! Saying that, given the rarity of me putting contacts in and makeup on and doing my hair, something that's not utterly gruesome could be good!)

My mate went once as a Rubik's cube, I like that idea

That is an excellent idea, but only if its interactive! Also it does sound like more effort and skill than I possess

Haha I was going to say I got a Batman dress in aldi that I'll be wearing - but it is primarily a childrens party I'll be hosting!

If all else fails, a witch is a safe but easy costume.

I've just got back from B&M and their Halloween costumes are half price if that helps?!

Cruella/ Maleficent/ Ursula/ Morticia Addams?

Sally from Nightmare before Christmas (most of my fancy dress doesn’t fit but this is a baggy dress so works)

I’m going to a friend’s party as Elphaba, the younger, less haggard, misunderstood version of the wicked witch of the west. DD helpfully suggested I may consider going as Fiona from Shrek if I’m covering my face in green face paint anyway.

im going to one this year bought a black lacy bodice top dress from a charity shop a witches hat from the same shop cost three pounds altogether will wear thick black tights and ankle boots

Wagsandclaws · 22/10/2021 14:10

I'm going as Stevie Nicks. Witchy, sexy boho vibe ( I think )

I was once Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, it was the best costume ever and really easy. Basically a bridal dress and veil with dead flowers and blue face paint.
