Please help me decide what days to work..

Okay so I currently work Monday - Wednesday 9am until 5pm.

DS goes to nursery.

Since going part time at work (last year when I returned from maternity)
I’ve found it a bit difficult sometimes to fill my days off.

I didn’t rally have a “normal” maternity leave because of Covid so I haven’t really made many mum friends yet.

We go to singing class on a Friday but I struggle what to do on a Thursday.

I always feel like I’ve got two straight days to plan and I then worry DS isn’t getting enough interaction.

I was considering maybe changing my work days to be Mon, Tue & Thu.
Days off Wednesday and Friday.

My thinking behind this is, that if just breaks up my work week and breaks up the days at home and it all doesn’t feel so…. Constant….

Also poor DS seems to be catching all sorts of bug since he started nursery and I’ve had to take several days off.

I thought if I had a gap in working days it might be less disruptive if I have to take a few days off at the start of the week….?

Opinions please? Do I stay Mon - Wed or should I change?

My God you don't have to do anything! You can stay at home with him and chill out! There's value in that too you know. You certainly don't have to run around to things with such a little child...even older children don't need constant activities.

I imagine that since he's in nursery three days, he will love a day at home playing with you, watching TV etc.

If you get bored, go for a walk in the park, look at leaves! Walk in puddles...collect pinecones.

With three days in nursery and a singing class he's getting more interaction than many I promise you.

Oh I know we have to do much, I just like to try and get out each day. Even for an hour.

How old is your son? I'm the exact same with DD and try to attend as many classes as possible as it breaks up the day for me. Otherwise I just find myself sat in the living room with her clinging onto me all day. I don't have an opinion on what days you should work though. I know other people don't like their child in nursery on Mondays or Fridays as they end up paying for bank holidays
