Cheapest place to get thin white fabric?

I want to make some Halloween decorations.

I need quite a lot of thin white fabric - about 150cms wide and minimum of 5m long - twice that if I can find it at a decent price. It doesn’t need to be good quality - torch light needs to shine through to light it up. I had thought to get bed sheets but that’s working out quite expensive.

Where / what do you suggest?

How about boyes? Or even a charity shop perhaps?

Theworldisquiethere · 20/10/2021 19:44

Any fabric shop should have it very cheap because it’s what’s used to made sure patterns fit before making them up in proper fabrics

Couple of places online which look pretty cheap fabricland.co.uk/product/sheeting-polyester-cotton/

Ebay, Whaley’s in Bradford, they do mail order

Amazon, as long as poly cotton is ok you can get it dirt cheap, about £1.80 a metre

Knittedfairies · 20/10/2021 19:53

Would this be too thin?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 20/10/2021 20:49

Thanks all.

I asked a couple of friends and have got a white double duvet cover from one of them. Now I’ve got that I’ve decided that I’d like to reuse all of the fabric if I can, as it’s unlikely to be used again after this so checking local charity shops are a great idea that I’ll try before I order any.

Dunelm is always good for fabric. You just want some polycotton lining.

FelicityBeedle · 20/10/2021 22:12

Charity shops near me often have loads of insanely cheap curtains, always lined in white

coronafiona · 20/10/2021 22:37

IKEA gauze curtains?

IndecentCakes · 20/10/2021 22:39

Ikea curtains, or Fabricland is usually cheap.
