Just that really, how much was your loft conversion and what area are you in? I am guessing prices in the north and the south will be vastly different.

Depends what you have done - bathroom, dormer, hip and gable (if that's what it's called) there are quite a lot of variables.

Also can be a lot of incidentals. I had to have a wall locked down another one rebuilt! That meant a lot of coats of things like carpets and decorating. You may need a new boiler.

My loft was probably £52 ish but then spent another £10k on all the other bits and pieces like decorating carpets and furniture for new rooms.

Im London / Surrey.

That's very expensive, I hope you are thrilled with it Smile I suppose the costs can soon mount up when you add in carpets etc!

I was told recently to budget £80k in West London. We haven’t started work yet though.

Surrey 1930s hip to gable and back dormer. 2 beds and a shower room.£50k, plus decoration and flooring, 5 years ago.

SW London/Surrey border. We had quotes from £40k to £70k for a plaster finish. We then spent £10k on top of that on decoration.

I did mine in Home Counties, was around 60k (dormer windows, bathroom etc) then I got some other ceilings skimmed and got the decorators in and new carpet everywhere so it wasn't patchwork.

Best thing I ever did

Now have a 5 bed house with no artex 😆 (hey it wasn't that bad really) and no box rooms.
