DH died a few months ago. DC still live at home but are past the age where my holidays are filled with occupying them. Friends will mostly be working.

What would you do with 5 glorious days all to yourself?

So sorry for your loss. Mundane, but there's a lot of satisfaction in tackling a 'to do' list for me, so I would spend a day on chores. Then I could spend the rest of the time knowing I wouldn't be coming back to a load of boring jobs. The other days I would go walking, pub lunches with a book, spa and swim at a local hotel if the weather's poor. With advance notice I'd book a pottery class and a yoga workshop. If I had enough spare cash I would head for London or better still Florence. I love my family but spending time in museums and galleries alone, mooching about at will would be great.

I had 3.5 days from 8-4 to myself last week. I did a load of baking and batch cooking, watched a lot of TV, sorted out my winter clothes and spent an afternoon wandering around a big garden centre looking at Christmas stuff and visiting the cafe.
