Spa recommendations London / SE

Can anyone recommend a spa in London or the SE where you can spend a few hours lazing in the hydro pool, drinking in your robe and not have to have treatments? Also preferably where they have heated stone beds?

It is rather south but I could definitely recommend Careys Manor, it is amazing and ticks all the boxes you're looking for!

Ah thank you, yes, I know Carey's Manor and used to go there. Sadly however, they've started limiting time in the spa to a couple of hours which they say is "because of Covid". Of course they're still charging the same price as they did for a full day! I'm afraid I'm cynical.

I'm a big fan of Pennyhill Park spa. Two pools, plunge pool, heated beds, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, plenty of poolside beds, sauna, several different steam rooms.

Oh, that is naughty. It makes me very angry when companies do this. Limited service (and probably not the same standards as pre-pandemic), yet same (if not higher!!) price tag!

I'm getting sick and tired of hearing companies use Covid as excuse for
a) sub-par service
b) higher prices !!!!

I’m going to SenSpa soon after postponing from March 2020, it doesn’t say anywhere that spa time is limited, just that lunch is in the hotel restaurant not the spa. I would vote Pennyhill Park, love the underwater music in the big pool

LollipopsPanda · 22/10/2021 13:05

I think SenSpa is now limiting times as I rang them to ask. You used to be able to go to the zen restaurant whilst in the spa but now you have to get dressed and leave to go to the hotel restaurant.

Well done for being able to speak to them, I couldn’t get through on the phone so was all done via email, have emailed again to clarify things, thanks for info.

Nirvana spa in Berkshire is lovely.

MrsGatsby99 · 23/10/2021 07:41

A second recommendation for Nirvana.

Just wanted to come back and comment on the time limitations at senspa. It’s actually ok, 2 hrs in the morning and 2 hrs in the afternoon fits in with us arriving and having breakfast first then lunch then another 2 hr session and our treatment. There is the main pool to sit by out of these spa times and you don’t have to get dressed to go to the restaurant. Admittedly more limiting than pre covid but will work for us and since it was originally booked for March 2020 I can’t wait!

Did you book one @Petitpenguin?

cultkid · 27/10/2021 06:52

Possibly Sopwell

I've just booked a few days at carden house spa
I'm tired of the ridiculous prices in the south for old spas

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 27/10/2021 06:54

Sopwell House is beautiful. As is Sequoia at The Grove.

Calcot manor is amazing, but no heated beds I don’t think.

MancMum2000 · 27/10/2021 17:48

Have a look at Aire Ancient Baths London…I haven’t been yet but their spas in Spain are incredible.

PeoplePleaserBe · 27/10/2021 19:04

Very mixed reviews of Nirvana if you go beyond the first page of TripAdvisor.
Just saying. Wink

Penny Hill Park Spa looks good but their website is littered with typos!
Unprofessional. Time to fire the copywriter.
