Anyone Used Parsleybox?

Impressed with their service & food. I ordered a mixture of meals that need refrigerating but have a long life & meals you can store in the cupboard which have nearly a year’s shelf life. Today’s parcel was beautifully packed with lots of protection, ice packs etc & arrived very promptly. Prices are reasonable & portions good. I also received 2 free traybakes ( Millionaires shortbread & chocolate tiffin).

I could really eat a chocolate tiffin right now.

I have seen this before and debated doing it for my mum. She lives alone and quite often can't be bothered to cook just for herself. For some reason the cupboard stored thing puts me off Blush

Do they taste ok though?
I'm not a big readymeal fan for our house but have subscribed to a frozen meals service (Wiltshire farm foods) for my ILs and thinking of parsley box for my mum as she has limited mobility so might not get everything into the freezer quickly.
The meal choices don't look particularly inspiring but if they taste great I can forgive the photos! Grin

The only one I haven’t liked in the past is steak in stout as it was incredibly bitter. The rest have been really nice.

Gosh the photos don’t look great. Loads of complaints about portion size, look at this ‘chicken breast’!

Pros - good choice, don't need refrigeration. Also only take 2 minutes.

Cons - small portion size, the mash is a weird brown colour. The film on them is very thick so needs
a fair bit of piercing otherwise it blows off.

If it's shelf stable won't it have been heat treated or something?
I don't think I'm a food snob but I can always taste a weird flavour in soups, ready meals etc that have long lives- baby food pouches etc are awful for this!
I'd love to have more decent ready food available but I only really have Cook and Charlie Bighams, both of which are expensive but are just "normal" food chilled or frozen.

Ordered twice for elderly relatives, seems fine, sure the company got some sort of award.

TheCatInTheChat · 19/10/2021 18:49

My auntie got some for my elderly gran, they both declared the food inedible.
For decent ready meals Cook are best, IMO.

I work in community care, the service users that have ordered them only ordered once! They were foul!!! I tasted one, can’t remember what it was and had to spit it out!

BlueShirtGirl · 19/10/2021 19:12

Got to say that does look a bit gross…

My SIL usually lives on salads and stir-fries, but was shielding last year; so bought some Parsley box meals. She was very pleased with them.

I know someone who did and they said it was rubbish.
