Everytime I wash my hair I have a big clump of it to dispose of then brush it and even more.. Late forties have longish just below shoulders hair is this usual hairloss, perimenopausal hairloss, or too much?

That's normal for me. I have tons of hair so I think its okay.

How thick is your hair?

This could be a picture of my shower. Head over to style and beauty and there’s an active thread about menopausal hair loss

Supplements should help - a good multivitamin with plenty of iron/b12 etc

Try brushing your hair before washing it so you comb out the loose hair before getting in the shower

Small for me (thick long hair). Brush your hair before you get in the shower.

That’s not actually many hairs though. Maybe ten at most?

I think what's key is whether it's unusual for the op or not. If so, then it could be a reaction to period of stress or illness within the last few months, or it could be indicative for a vitamin deficiency.
