IKEA Hemnes day bed

Anyone used standard single mattresses with one? We've bought one for the spare room along with the IKEA mattresses as we were told standard singles don't fit. I'm a bit worried that they are a bit thin and might not be too comfy. We don't have many overnight guests but I don't want them to have a miserable night!

You can use a standard single but you have to pull the underneath part out a bit to accommodate the extra width. DD has this arrangement for quite a while in our last house. You can still use the drawers in this position, it was fine.

Actually I think it might have been a standard width IKEA single mattress she had. Rather than the narrow one that goes with the daybed iyswim. I think IKEA mattresses are a bit longer than the usual.

As above. My eldest couldn't get on with the Ike ones as too thin and wobbled when on top of each other. She pulls the base out a bit to accommodate the single mattress.

Yes, her single mattress is a 'european' size so is200cm long.as opposed to 190cm.

I bought a non standard single mattress for it as it would be in full time use. They accidentally sent the standard single and no way would it fit. The Mattress Man is where I got ours.

I bought the thicker IKEA mattresses for it rather than the foam ones it suggested and they’re quite comfy.
