Transport Manchester airport -> Liverpool

Morning! I'm travelling to Manchester airport in December on my own with my 6mo, and then need to get to Liverpool. Anyone know the best way?

Taxi = £££ and I don't know if the car seat exemption applies on the motorway. Prefer to avoid.

Uber etc. - No car seat exemption and they don't provide them. I'd have to take one on the plane, which is a faff when I'm on my own with baby, buggy and bags.

Train - No idea what it's like with a buggy. I'm seeing my 100yo grandmother the next day, so prefer to avoid being in a confined space with people without masks.

Anyone got any tips? Thanks!

Could you hire a car? It won't be cheaper than a taxi though I don't suppose.

I think I'd go by train or bus. Both will be reasonably straightforward with a pushchair.

Could you look into coach transfer ?

I think I’d opt for the train, you can get it from the airport.

I’d get the train too- normally the trains that go to the airport are great for prams as they have loads of room on them to allow for people with suitcases

Looks like a possibility

National Express have a service several times a day from Manchester Airport to Liverpool. Or if the schedule doesn't work for you, get the bus or train in to Manchester Piccadilly and train from there to Liverpool or it's a short walk to Chorlton Street to the bus station for National Express buses from there.

Train is direct from airport you don't have to go outside at all and there is a lift down to platform.
Looking at trainline there are a number of no change trains so would be easy from Manchester side.
Not been to Liverpool by train so can't comment on that side of things

There’s a direct coach service I think.

You'll have just travelled through airports and on public transport. Just continue to wear your mask. The train is the better option if you can't just fly into Liverpool

Thanks everyone, I hadn't seen your replies as I'm not getting email notifications for some reason - thought I was shouting into the void!

I'll look at train or coach then, as that seems to be the general consensus.

@NigelSlatersXmasTaters, yes, I meant that from what I've seen people in the UK aren't using masks on trains. In Madrid airport at least, where I'm flying from, and on the plane, masks are obligatory, so less worried about that. Fucking virus, honestly. That's the reason I can't just go straight to Liverpool, used to be able to but there are currently no flights. So sad about everything!
