My five year has the bum worms… again Envy
The house is clean, we’ve had carpets cleaned, binned all the playdoh, replaced toothbrushes etc but she just seems to keep picking them up. Is there something I’m Missing or some magical top tip

Have you treated your son?

qualitygirl · 18/10/2021 00:50

I don don't know why I said don't there I meant dc?

dmudbur · 18/10/2021 00:50

Has the whole family been treated? All bedding and towels washed?

He could be picking them up from school or nursery if someone else has not been treated perhaps?

They are buggers to get rid of and so unpleasant for sufferers!

Theunamedcat · 18/10/2021 00:51

Eggs are sticky so clean your surfaces

PeeAche · 18/10/2021 00:55

We found soft toys to be the culprit. Kid scratches arse in sleep and transfers to toys. Put them all through the washing machine, if you haven't already. And wipe down the bed frame with anti bac.

Yes treated everyone.
Most soft toys been put out of action.
Will whizz them they the wash again.
It’s so annoying, we seem to be the only ones in our group that have had them and we’ve had them twice or three times a year for last couple of years. I’m super fed up of them now!

You won't be the only ones at all, just the only ones who are brave enough to talk about it! we've had this and ended up having to keep medicating (on advice from
pharmacist though always makes us nervous). think it just kept being passed between kids at school Confused

Avarua · 18/10/2021 02:30

Normal and by 7 or 8 its way less common. So take heart.

PeeAche · 18/10/2021 09:12

Second vote for "you aren't the only ones". Nobody else wants to admit to the bum worms. The eggs are sticky as all hell and they pass between young kids like crazy. Don't be so hard on yourself.

I thought this was going to be a Bluey thread.

Honesty, you're definitely not the only ones and I bet regardless of what you're doing it's coming back from school or nursery. It's awful though.

Fingernails all cut super short? Is my only helpful suggestion I'm afraid

Thanks all, this is really what I needed to hear today. You start to get paranoid that it’s you and you are slatterns, but our house is for sale and has never been so clean!!
