And on further research, apparently I've bought a load of crap.

It's 'only' £25 but I can't really afford to lose it. I paid by PayPal and can't see how to cancel it.

I'm usually careful so really cross with myself at the moment.

As they used to say on Hill Street Blues - "Let's be careful out there!"

What is the item?

WandaVision2 · 17/10/2021 20:11

Just return the item

ny20005 · 17/10/2021 20:12

Email the company to cancel your order as soon as you can. Some t&c's say you can cancel within 24 hrs

I did similar recently & when items arrived they were rubbish. I challenged it through PayPal with the company & after a bit of back & forth, I got a full refund

They are noise cancelling earplugs - I want them for a concert but apparently they are rubbish.

I will try and return them but if the company are dodgy then I don't feel confident.

I'm worried as it's going to be difficult to prove they're not fit for purpose.

Distance selling laws in the UK give you 14 days to change your mind?

pinkcattydude · 17/10/2021 20:21

Email to Cancel and refuse the delivery

Sandygran · 17/10/2021 20:21

All online purchases (new goods from retails company in UK) are covered by the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
Online returns timelines
You have the right to cancel at any time from the moment you place your online order, and up to 14 days from the day you receive your goods. This is sometimes referred to as a ‘cooling-off period’.

You need to notify the retailer of your wish to cancel your order within this time period – by email, for example.

You then have a further 14 days from the date you notify the retailer of your cancellation to return the goods.

You may have to pay return postage.

waltzingparrot · 17/10/2021 20:23

go on your paypal account and see if the payment is 'pending'. If so, you can still cancel it.

BlueBloodedBlue · 17/10/2021 20:27

I've just realised I've had the PayPal confirmation but no email confirmation. As soon as I get that I'll try and cancel.
Also just found out they're based in Slovenia!! I know, it gets worse and worse!

Just in case anyone else decides to be a complete numpty -

They are Bollsen ear plugs - I found them recommended through a site frommthe Consumer Review Society.

That is strange OP. All the reviews I saw were very good with 300+ reviewers. There were only a couple of bad ratings from reviews with about 7 reviewers.

Do you work for the competitors?

Or... do you work for Bollsen and this is some reverse form of marketing?
