Cannabis smokers

Not judging at all, purely wondering.
But why do people that have smoked cannabis over a long period of time talk differently?
I've met a few recently through friends, and they all speak in a really monotone voice, quite slowly and their voice almost cracks when they speak.
They all seem nice enough, but is it a side effect that your voice changes?
Never really noticed before as I'm late 30s, so I've not been around week smokers for about 20 years.
Just curious really!

Would assume so as I smoke every other day ish and have done since I was 11 and only speak like that when I'm stoned, if ive not smoked then i speak normal

OhWhyNot · 17/10/2021 19:35

Because often the impact isn’t just when people are stoned they are slower/less with it for some time after

Like with a hangover

It's so strange. They sound like the stereotypical "hippy" would sound.
Surely they must know that other people know?!
They're really calm chilled out people, but they sound so odd.

They might not act or feel stoned, but if they've been up late smoking it it doesn't just magically leave the body because it's school run time. Most people I have known who were heavy/long term smokers would have a tiny bit in the morning too, like a little roll ups worth not a big joint, but still a little bit. And these are people who would look down on day drinkers and drinkers in general.

Wake and bake, man.

Also velcro bed syndrome.

I have an employee who regularly smokes. He thinks it doesn't affect him, it 100% does and not for the better.

What Velcro bed syndrome?

What Velcro bed syndrome?
Imagine your bed is made of velcro. Then you try to get up. That's how stoners can feel getting out of bed.
