Advice for travelling to Dubai (a bit worried)

Going for a week in Jan and staying with a friend, who is moving there next month.

I take prescription meds for anxiety, blood pressure and migraine. I know I need to get a prescription from GP and a covering letter and only take 1 week of meds.

However, I have never been out of Europe and worried about the strict laws I've heard about and the dress code etc?

I will ask my friend too but I don't want her to think I'm worried and she's not even there yet.

I am a worrier......is there anything else I need to know? Think we'll be mostly sight-seeing, shopping and eating out. She has a shared pool in her apartment - are bikinis a no? What about dresses above the knee and shorts?

I've never travelled long haul, either so travel advice would be helpful too.

Thanks

No real advice but if you’re very dependent on your meds I would be very wary as if you get stuck out there for any reason with only one week of meds you could be in a difficult situation.

I have chronic health conditions and take 22 different prescription medications including Tramadol and wouldn’t travel to Dubai for this reason.

Just wear exactly what you would at home! Dubai is very very relaxed when it comes to clothing. I wouldn't wear that bikini walking down the street and going topless is a no no but other than that, you'll be fine. I have lived here for 14 years.

I take adhd meds - stimulants and prozac and am prescribed here. I would check with your airline but so long as you bring a prescription and Drs letter I am pretty sure you will be fine.

I really wouldn’t worry about clothes. Wear normal clothes that you’d wear here for the equivalent activities.

You can fill in an online form that then gives you permission to bring in medication. It was a really easy process and did not take long to complete.

Bikinis by a pool absolutely fine as are other summer clothes but it can get cold especially with the ac so I’d pack a couple of lightweight jumpers etc.

Enjoy!!!
