Would you have found this embarrassing/awkward?

I've just returned from having a PCR test. There were no other people being tested there just me and 3 members of staff inside the unit plus one on the door and one collecting the swabs.

I was shown to a seat in a booth and the man explained what I had to do. The 2 other staff members then stood with him, all behind me and watched as I swabbed my tonsils. I was gagging so much and felt so embarrassed! Some privacy would have been nice!

They were all male members of staff, young men in their 20's and 30's. Would others have found that uncomfortable? I think they should leave step away once they've given instructions I don't need an audience!

When I did my DC’s at a test centre recently there were several young men working there, loitering around the door.
Was a bit annoying as my DC wasn’t very compliant but they were checking I put everything in the right bag etc rather then specifically watching me swab.

I would have felt uncomfortable too. One person checking would have been fine.

I wonder whether the two spare members of staff were new and watching this happening for the first time.

They may not have been of course, but it's a possibility.

I think that is definitely dodgy. I would contact whoever is in charge tomorrow and talk to them about it and raise a complaint.

Something similar happened to me. 3 young men. 1 was watching me checking to see I had swab correctly. 2 lurking in background it wasn't very busy. I messed up my first attempt and then let out an incredibly loud involuntary Belch that echoed round the large empty testing room. Cringe!

It wouldn't have even registered with me tbh. Our local walk in test site the staff always "supervise" the test, we went yesterday abd there were 2 staff at my booth, and a 3rd across the walkway. It's what they do. Had there been other people being tested they probably wouldn't have been there, ut must be an incredibly tedious job especially when not busy.
