Good morning everyone,
I opened a new packet of HIPP follow on milk for my son this morning and there was a small light brown bug crawling on top of it. I scooped it out and put it on some kitchen roll and obviously threw away that packet. Has anyone seen anything like this before??
By the way, It’s a brand new box

No. I would contact the manufacturer.

I have done and sent the photos just wondered if anyone on here had any ideas

Possibly a weevil? They sometimes appear in flour, though usually only after it’s been opened for a while. I’d do what pp say and contact the company.

I wouldn't throw the tub away as they may ask you to send to back so they can test.
Make sure you have the serial numbers etc.
That is really grim though.

I’ve took photos of everything such as batch numbers etc and discarded that powder except the a lump of powder that the bug is in. I’ve saved that Incase they want it sending in

Yes, agree with PP, get the tub out the bin and put the bug in something like a little pot or sandwich bag. Or even sellotape it to a bit of card. In case they want it back.

I used to work for a food manufacturer and if someone returned a product saying there was an insect I would have to sit and dig through the pie or whatever trying to find the damn thing. And it had usually been unrefrigerated for a week at that point. Envy 9/10 I never found it and we couldn't then try and work out how it had got in there.

I bought flour from the local shop that had them in when I opened it.....it was grim!! But....once cooked they don't do you any harm.....I didn't use the flour though.
