How often do you intend to have a nice and healthy meal then think aaaah f*** it I'll have a takeaway 😁

Just that 😂

Maybe once a fortnight? We are, like a lot of people, really busy. I'd happily have omelette or salad or jacket spud on fuck it days. But dh is a builder and wants a 'mans tea' when he gets home. And is also a fussy fucker. And I try and eat healthy so we have a health/manstea conflict happening on a regular basis.

If it was up to me we would have one naice takeaway a month.

Eileen101 · 14/10/2021 20:56

How often do I think it? Probably once a week. How often do I actually do it? Once a month for takeaway night Grin with 2 in nursery, we couldn't possibly afford it more often Grin
If it's a regular night and not treat night, I'll either a) get over myself or b) throw something in the oven that's beige after the kids are in bed. b is not too often though as we have family tea as often as possible.

sofakingcool · 14/10/2021 20:58

We have a take away weekly Blush, look forward to it all week! In our defence we don't drink or smoke so it's the one thing we do...

LER83 · 14/10/2021 21:01

At the moment nearly everyday! We've had builders in, the house is chaos and everything is covered in dust! I can't even be bothered to go in the kitchen! Sometimes we will go weeks without a takeaway, other times we have them more then once a week!

Gingerkittykat · 14/10/2021 21:01

@DustyMaiden

I ordered a takeaway yesterday. It’s the first time I’ve ever done that. I am 59.
Have you never even had fish and chips?

Did you enjoy it?

For me it is far too often and a habit I need to break.

Yesterday we got Korean fried chicken again and tonight I was looking at a couple of menus before I made myself get up and make a salad.

Mum2jenny · 14/10/2021 21:02

Far too often as I have the option locally for a good Chinese, good Indian, good Kebab and good Pizza.

Weekly

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 14/10/2021 21:17

@Gingerkittykat if I could get Korean fried chicken I’d have takeaway much more often! Tbf I do cook a lot of Korean but the fried chicken is way too much faff so I only make it once in a while.

fluffythedragonslayer · 14/10/2021 21:33

Haha if you saw me you'd know the answer to that 😂
Eating healthy is so hard!!! (When you are a fat pig like me)

megletthesecond · 14/10/2021 21:34

Never. We've never had a takeaway.
Kids have macdonalds once a month or so.

Coogee · 14/10/2021 21:35

There’s no takeaways near here, so there’s no temptation.

2lsinllama · 14/10/2021 21:42

Probably once a week. We don’t plan to have takeaway on a particular day but life happens and we’ll decide to get one. Sometimes we’ll go a couple of weeks without one and not feel like we’ve missed out.

Maybe once a fortnight. Usually after a rough day with the kids and a couple of wines.

Comedycook · 14/10/2021 21:56

Never.... takeaways are ridiculously expensive!

RaininSummer · 14/10/2021 21:56

Never but I do often decide I can't be bothered to cook something I planned and have cheese and apple or porridge instead.

Immunetypegoblin · 14/10/2021 21:58

Only if there is nothing else in the house that could do with being used up, or if we've planned ahead to have one! Too frugal/waste-averse to do otherwise Grin

HelenaJustina · 14/10/2021 21:58

Never, no bugger delivers out here and driving minimum 6miles defeats the object. Soup is the go-to when I really can’t be arsed (from the freezer)

ivfbabymomma1 · 14/10/2021 23:02

We have a weird habit with takeaways! Sometimes we'll go 2 months and not have one and then other times we'll have 3 in a week!

Chicchicchicchiclana · 14/10/2021 23:08

Very rarely. We have nice takeaways occasionally as planned treats. I'll order a pizza or Turkish deliveey once in a blue moon (once a year maybe). If I don't feel like cooking it will be an omelette and oven chips or pasta with butter and parmesan, something like that.

StillMedusa · 14/10/2021 23:13

Usually once a fornight... chinese chips with a mushroom curry on top (I'm veggie) ..bliss!

However I have also got into the bad habit of having a (shop bought..way nicer than Dominos) pizza once a week if Dh is away with work. He hates pizza.. I love it and my glass of wine goes down nicely with it!

Flowersinthefireplace · 14/10/2021 23:14

Did it tonight.

MrsClatterbuck · 15/10/2021 01:09

Sometimes I have something healthy planned and then DH will suggest a takeaway and I just can't resist as it also saves me cooking. Or we are out and he will suggest getting a burger and chip from our favourite chippy which I can't resist. Fortunately we are very rarely in the town where it is now. At least if we are eating out I can choose a more healthy option. Our favourite Chinese now offers a super sized main and side. We had this last week and shared the extra large main and side between us which worked out well. Had enough each and weren't left with leftovers that usually get thrown out or eat it all and then regret it.

Duckypoohs · 15/10/2021 03:29

Tbh I have now had so many takeaways that I prefer beans on toast. Sickened myself on them, they are usually disappointing round here. To me a well cooked home meal is a rare treat, seeing as I am single and shit at cooking Blush

gofg · 15/10/2021 04:05

Very often - especially as I live alone. I don't like cooking at the best of times, so any excuse Grin
