Is your partner ' shouty ' ?

Not as in a nasty way , but a really loud talker ?
With mine we can be sat together but he will speak to me in a loud voice , or if he really wants to tell me something , he can be loud . Same if you are out , he can be shouty then. I tell him I am next to him & can hear but he doesn't seem to have a quiet mode . Don't think he has any hearing problem. Anyone else have a loud one ?

Yes! He says he can’t help it, I say he doesn’t want to help it. The worst one is if I’m having a nap and the D.C. are being a bit loud (that I can’t hear as I’m napping) he’ll shout BE QUIET MUMMY IS SLEEPING. Not anymore I’m not.

And apparently has perfect hearing (except when I say something and I get, WHAT? wHAT?)

A man I work with has a really booming voice, it goes right through you and you can't concentrate on what you're doing. People have mentioned it and he says he 'can't help it' rather than actually make an effort to lower it.

In one of my first jobs (call centre) I was gently told I sometimes do it, and it was because I had never used a headset before and the phone lines were sometimes iffy so I was still trying to strike that balance. I made an effort and mastered it in the end. I knew it must be me because no one else did it! It annoys me this bloke doesn't bother trying.

Yes I'm with you on this ! Mine will quieten down if reminded , but by they end of the convo is back to full volume 🙂

Mine is the opposite, he'll wander off in the supermarket with his back to me and mumble something about bloody red onions and expect me to be able to hear him.

Actually I have a friend who is pretty shouty.

I'm sure she will have been mentioned on here as engaging in 'competitive parenting' when in actual fact she's not trying to attract attention, she's just rather loud.
