Is there a way to report to an unknown insurance company?

I witnessed a minor traffic incident today. Not serious enough for the police to be involved, the two drivers will be sorting it out with their respective insurance companies.

I suspect that Driver A will be asserting that the incident is either partly or wholely Driver B's fault, but in my opinion it was wholely Driver A's fault.

I have Driver A's number plate but not Driver B's.

Is there any way to log what I saw, or communicate it to the relevant insurers? or is it really none of my business and I should just let the insurance companies work it out for themselves?

Did either of them ask for your details as a witness?

I don't think either was aware that I was a witness. I hung about while they exchanged details (busy shopping street, don't think I was particularly noticable) but didn't want to approach as Driver A seemed like an unpleasant character and I don't do well under that kind of stress. I was going to go and ask Driver B if all was ok after Driver A left the scene, but Driver B drove off before I could do so.

I guess then they will have to sort it out for themselves.
