Why is being an actual biological woman a bad thing?

Seriously we are not allowed to use the word woman in the context of being women.
Our biology and everything it comes with such as breastfeeding, menopause, periods, female only diseases, misogyny, murder, rape, childbirth, prostitution, trafficking, fgm, child marriage,
death due to pregnancy/childbirth, patriarchy are all things that happen to people and can be discussed but you are not allowed to say these are things only women & girls suffer.

I am FED up of ignoring our oppression in favour of equality for all. That just blurs the fucking lines and allows it to continue as its not oppression if all "people" suffer from it!

I dunno, most of us are still using it in real life. As much as I'm pissed off about the whole thing in a broader sense, it seems to be niche to certain things, like media, social media and politics and hasn't really had an impact on day to day usage of the term women. I'm a nurse and it hasn't been an issue in my job yet, despite a lot of the work I do being Women's Health. No one has asked me to change my terminology.

I had a training thing on smears the other day and despite one token mention of 'people with a cervix', the trainer spent the other 44 minutes of the presentation using the words Women and Woman.
Did another course on menopause recently and they only ever used women/woman. No one is telling us we can't use the words women/woman.

I do wonder sometimes if the best thing to do is carry on as we are and ignore the attempts by certain circles to change our language. It's still niche, it doesn't have to take over if we don't let it.

My local zero waste shop posted on Facebook today advising they sell reusable sanitary products by starting off "Every month those who have periods ..."

Im with you 💯. It’s absolutely ludicrous why men who “feel” like women haven’t a clue what it feels like to be a woman (If that makes sense?)

Men who “feel like women” are throwing women under a bus and our government candidates, and Labour - as well as as regional candidates- are in favour of this.

The worlds gone fucking mad!

This is why I am politically homeless. I can’t bring myself to vote for any party who convince themselves that men are women, and expect everyone else to live a lie

Ragz

I agree with you or I did until recently.
This week my work place are promoting menopause awareness day. Great. I am a woman of a certain age and menopause really does fuck you over.
I clicked the supportive link only to find the whole document discusses people, employees, those who may be affected!
Can you imagine waiting forever for society to catch up and embrace a physical issue suffered by women only to find they omit to actually celebrate the women this happens to.....
