I have been temping in an office where there was a merger in the organisation and a reduction in staff across all sites. The morale is quite low and a lot of the staff there say it will never be the same again and they miss the people who have left.
One day some company printed annual reports appeared out of nowhere. After a few weeks I put them away as they were in the way of the desks. I noticed that the person who runs communications has put them back on the desk. I have left them now.
I don’t see how having a staff annual report enforcing targets is going to help boost staff morale. They have even put mental health posters up. I don’t think they realise the staff are fed up of work overload and they just go on about targets and not talking about the issues. It’s a bit unpleasant to work in that environment.
