What spider is this?

So random I know, but I want to be able to tell son as he thinks it's a tarantula!
Poor little thing has lost a leg.... I wonder if it hurts 🙈

It looks like a House Spider. Usually live indoors and scuttle across the living room floor scaring the bejesus out of folks between September and November when the males are looking for a mate.

Oh god the thought of it being a house spider gives me shivers!!!!!
It was absolutely huge!

I'm afraid that I think that it needs euthanising. Would you like me to pop round with my can of raid?

House spider. I keep a few spindly cellar spiders around the house and they eat the house spiders. Which is handy!

Why do I get so freaked out by them 🙈
I wonder what happened to the poor buggers leg!
Well it was outside so hopefully it is going to find a new house haha!

That was the same in our house, however we changed that when Borid Johnson became PM so now we name them based on their little personalities.

Yeah it's a giant house spider, OP. They do get pretty big but they’re very lovely 😊
