We're having a short break in Manchester (Sunday and Monday of next week) and I have no idea what to see/do. I'm going to go and have a browse on TripAdvisor, but wondering if anyone can give me any pointers. We've got older kids (12-16). Don't really want to spend a fortune. Some of us like walking/outdoorsy stuff, some of us prefer shopping/movies etc. I've seen that Grease is on, so I might book that (although that would be a hefty chunk out of our not-very-defined budget). We're also all vegetarian/vegan, and will be visiting Doner Summer at some point.

Chill factore near the trafford centre too.

We have liked:

The Museum of Science and Industry
The Imperial War Museum North
Art Gallery
Salford Quays
HOME
The Football Museum
Afflecks
Geocaching and finding Alan Turing’s statue

But mostly, as we live miles from anywhere with no public transport whatsoever, we’re obsessed with the fact there are FOUR FREE BUSES and we always sit on one of them and marvel at it!!

And the Red Cafe at Manchester United (easy to walk to from Salford Quays). We’ve also walked in to the city centre from Old Trafford as it’s only 40 mins.

Ohh let’s see the cut! I got a piercing in Afflecks back in the day, and loads of random flavoured condoms I never used. 😂😂
My only real tip was to not book Grease, it’s absolutely awful and my friend walked out with me following closely behind her!

A quick thank you to the Manchexperts - we had a great time. Especially Afflecks palace which was a huge hit with the DC.
