Has anyone been to the immersive chocolate factory at Westfield?

Is it really shit?!
I was going to take my daughter this weekend. We have tickets but I got them reduced so I’m not too worried about loosing money if we don’t go.
I can’t find many actual reviews online but the ones I can aren’t particularly positive…

IT'S SO SHIT.

I paid about £60 or £80 for 4 tickets when they first went on sale for me DH and 2 DC.

DH didn't end up coming but I went with DC and it was utterly and awfully shit. Total waste of money.

Westfacing · 12/10/2021 18:22

If you've got the tickets you might as well go!

I still haven't recovered from taking my grandson to the hell that was Kidzania at Westfield!

AirEngland · 12/10/2021 18:30

@nc87651 did the dc think it was awful too? Sorry you spent so much for such a rubbish experience. I wasn’t expecting that much, but thought dd would at least enjoy it. I’m thinking even that might be wishful thinking now…

Westfacing- I’m was of thinking we should just go. We live in west london so it’s not like it’s hassle to get there. But the reviews I’ve seen are SO bad!

Westfacing · 12/10/2021 18:36

I'd go - presumably you get some 'free' chocolate? Grin

The bad reviews are likely from those unfortunate enough to have paid the full price!

nc87651 · 12/10/2021 18:48

My DC were too young to notice (3 and 2), but we didn't stay long and they had more fun being pushed around in one of those kiddy car things you can hire at Westfield.

@Westfacing we got 2 small fun-sized chocolate bars each. That was it.

Squiffy01 · 12/10/2021 19:26

Ah wish there were more responses to this.
We got tickets at full price, I got over excited when things started opening Up again.
They were pushed back by two months and now I’m not sure if I want to bother.. might be too late to get a refund though.

TheNarwhalBalloon · 12/10/2021 19:34

What's it called and where are the reviews please?

DamnUserName21 · 12/10/2021 19:54

Immersive--do they dunk you in chocolate? Grin

Siriisatwat · 12/10/2021 19:58

One of dh colleagues took his family. He was fuming the next day, absolutely pissed off at what a waste of money it was. Said it took all of 15 mins, for almost £80.

Squiffy01 · 12/10/2021 22:35

I’m really annoyed. They don’t offer refunds which I think is absolutely fine in normal circumstances but when you push the event back by two months you can’t expect everyone to make the new date and say nah sorry we don’t do refunds Angry

TheNarwhalBalloon · 13/10/2021 08:26

I'm just so intrigued about this - I'm sorry you all had a rubbish time there. But can we please have details of why it was so bad??

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 13/10/2021 08:32

Kids will probably enjoy it as something new (hopefully)

AirEngland · 13/10/2021 08:52

Details (and pictures) would be great if anyone has them.
From what I can tell the whole thing takes about 10/15 mins to walk through (not the 1hr advertised) and that the photos used for advertisement are not from the experience. Oh and a general lack of chocolates or sweets.
I was always sceptical but assumed it would be at least mildly entertaining for Dd.

I just looked online as I was curious and it's main selling point seems to be the selfies you can take Hmm

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 13/10/2021 09:52

Come to Birmingham and go to Cadbury World instead - that’s worth the money at least!

Bells3032 · 13/10/2021 10:02

Went with DH (I am pregnant with first DC) and honestly it was awful. Three "free" chocolate was like two fun sized bars of cadburies chocolate. it was a few very bland rooms with plastic looking props. There was no factory at all, no gingerbread houses or giant marshmallows as shown on the advert, the ball pond was smaller than the one i bought my nephew (and i certainly wasn't jumping in this tiny pond with no social distancing whilst 5 months pregnant) and that was it. I showed my DH the advert afterwards and he looked at me completely confused.

I complained afterwards and actually got given a full refund. From the sound of my local mum's facebook group a lot of people had done the same and they'd postponed all tickets to later on. hopefully that means they are doing it up.

They were getting so many bad google reviews they removed it from google (or at least made it less findable). After some searching i found you can still find them if you search "TCFL reviews". you'll see every single one (bar one) is a one star review.

Bells3032 · 13/10/2021 10:05

it's cheaper than this experience too.
BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 13/10/2021 10:44

I liked Cadbury world

AirEngland · 13/10/2021 11:53

@Sleepyquest - yes, although I think they’ve toned down some of the marketing blurb since they first started advertising. I thought it would be a decent sized set - a bit like a walk through Xmas window display or similar. Not just one plastic item per room with a cheap plastic back drop. The bumf made a big deal of it being multi sensory and interactive and although I wasn’t expecting huge amounts from that I thought it might be a bit magical for a 6 year old. The customer pictures look totally dire. I haven’t seen a picture of the ball pit, but reviews mention it’s not much bigger than one you can buy at home. It sounds like something created by a team on The Apprentice that Alan sugar gives out a massive bollocking for (whilst also congratulating them for raking in so much cash for so little expense).

@Bells3032 It sounds awful! Thanks for the search tips. The customer review pictures are terrible!

If you want a bite size kitkat 😆

It was truly horrendous. Falsely advertised and taken to trading standards for the most appalling experience you will ever encounter.

You can find thier Google review page here. They tried to hide it by changing the name:

www.google.com/maps/place/TCFL,+Ariel+Way,+London+W12+7GF/@51.5077832,-0.2203069,17z/data=!4m6!1m3!8m2!2s114582472853462809122!4sChIJl0JYA-wPdkgRtD7WONiw_B0!3m1!1s0x48760fec03584297:0x1dfcb0d838d63eb4

Or type TCFL Ariel way into Google x

Kaydot123 · 21/10/2021 20:45

Google TCFL Ariel way. They’ve tried to hide their reviews.
