In the pound shop i saw a cat mask , it was black , velvety and moulded to fit your face , looked really effective , yet simple .
Black trousers and top , cats tail attached .

Day of the Dead make up, just wear normal black clothes.

I'd be a little bit cautious going in day of the dead as it can be seen as cultural appreciation (and depending on how liberal your students are they would love to see a reason to have that authority over a teacher)

I'd consider the very safe option of cat / witch hat / Harry Potter theme / very basic
