Where do we think house prices might go next?

I know we can only guess, just that I was thinking today about how it's amazing they have just kept going up and up for so long, especially recently. What next, will they level off, go down or just carry on going up? Surely mortgages are already at unaffordable levels for new buyers?

I think down. Its just not sustainable at the current prices. It will just mean people that bought years ago will buy more homes and young people are blocked out in the south east and other areas

Yes it's impossible at the moment for young people. It has felt like it could go down for a while though, because prices have seemed artificially high, and yet at the moment they're going up even more!
