How can I get rid of these moths !?

They are carpet/clothes moths
I live in a flat and the whole block has the same issue- they were new builds when I moved in 6 years ago so not like it’s an ancient building but they did all have the same carpet fitted (housing association) so it seems like it could have been an issue with the carpets but who knows.
They freak me out.
I’m saving to replace the carpets (with laminate or other non carpet floor) but I’m so scared of them and grossed out I haven’t even been in my bedroom for months because there seemed to be quite a lot in there
I’ve tried the sprays but have two young kids so not wanting to spray too much chemicals everywhere if I can avoid it.
I know it’s silly but they really freak me out and I hate my kids playing on the carpets because it just feels so infested and gross
Will replacing the carpet work or will I need to do something else?
There seemed to be lots in the (carpeted) cupboards I’ve put traps in there but I’ve had a really rough time with my mental health and just haven’t had the energy to deal with it which I’m not hugely regretting because no doubt that’s made the problem worse.
I really want to sort the problem out it’s getting me so down I feel on edge all the time about it

If they are in the whole block then the whole block needs treating, otherwise even if you eradicate them from your flat they will be able to come back from another one. Is it still run by the HA? They should probably be treating communal areas and offering advice to each flat.

Moths aren’t dirty so don’t worry about your children playing in the carpet but I hate them too and they are hard to shift. Replacing the carpets will really help but you will still need to vacuum frequently and keep moth traps in cupboards etc if they might come back from other flats. So you might prefer to save the money and just focus on the treatment and hoovering regime.
