Will new primary be any different?

We're moving to a really lovely village and I'm applying to move my children who are in year 3 and 5.

My question is are all (state) schools basically the same if they are following the same curriculum, similar class sizes etc?

I had high hopes because they seems to offer more in terms of 'fun' - swimming lessons, forrest school, more sports, smaller school albeit probably the same size classes and in my mind the schools available would be 'better'.

My year 5 DD is very academic but is bored at her current school, she's gone from bubbly and very enthusiastic about school to bored and a bit miserable and feels it's all the same and predictable in terms of their learning and asked me if it will be any different if she moves - to be honest I'm not sure?

My son lacks confidence in his learning, like many children who have missed lots of school over lockdown but would love to have opportunity to do more music and sport and in my mind a smaller school will help his confidence (he's now in a huge 5 form entry junior school)

But now the dream is becoming a reality I'm worried it'll not be the big change we're hoping for - I could just drive them to their current school and avoid the change....

Possibly, all schools are massively underfunded but some are better at making use of what little they are given and finding other sources of funds.
