I experienced a road rage incident earlier today. Somone overtook me at a roundabout because I stopped to give way to a fast approaching car. It was on the way into a car park and then he came over and started calling me a cunt saying I couldn't drive. He was really aggressive leaning into my open window. Yes I know I should not have opened the window!
I called the police because I felt really unsafe and the call handler was lovely. Someone from control called a bit later to check I'd got home safe. Which is great, the person I spoke to the second time was also really nice.
But then they said do you want to follow this up and tbh I was really upset by it, but I feel like the police have a lot to deal with and I don't really want to go through loads of shit for nothing which I probably where it will end up. I'm recovering from surgery and have a cold and ear infection. Actually this was my first trip out for ages. The call handler said it will probably just be closed anyway and he wasn't sure anyone would follow up. This was prior to me saying it was fine to just leave it. But he was quite encouraging towards that action.
Although I think it was the right decision to just leave it, I do feel like the police don't take things like this particularly seriously. I also feel it contributes to a general feeling of low level crime and aggressive behaviour being acceptable as in all honesty how often does stuff like this end up anywhere.
I'm just posting because I feel really shaken up and for a bit of a complain really. Not sure what I wnat from the thread!
