Where in the UK should we move to?

My whole family is looking to move out of London. We want to remain close, like within a 2 hour drive. I want somewhere suitable for a family and safe. I also want to be able to buy so it needs to be much cheaper than London. Any ideas on where to look?

How will you earn a living first of all? Will you need to be able to get to London quickly still, will you need excellent Internet, or do you need to find a job in the new area? If so, what line of work are you in?

Jobs are not an issue, one working from home and the other works in a school. But happy to find a job in a new or neighbouring area. Just want to be close to London to visit friends and family regularly.
