Live somewhere were the curry available is traditional and not in a good way. Going to Manchester for the weekend and would love a really good curry.

Mowgli is great and does street food style dishes as well.
There’s also rusholme which has millions of the more traditional Indian restaurants.

Sangam - city centre

Hoppinggreen · 10/10/2021 21:36

Akbar's. It's a small chain but I've never had a rubbish meal in any branch. Service is super speedy as they like to turn over quickly.

Piemam · 10/10/2021 21:37

Second Mowgli, also Dishoom for Iranian/Indian- both city centre.

SpittinKitten · 10/10/2021 21:38

traditional and not in a good way
What does that mean, OP?

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 10/10/2021 21:38

Akbar’s, eastZeast, swadesh

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 10/10/2021 21:38

Delhi House Cafe, Dishoom too

Mirrorxx · 10/10/2021 21:39

God no Akbars is awful now. Horrible greasy food a d bad service

FillyerBoots · 10/10/2021 22:23

@SpittinKitten. Unidentifiable meat in various lurid shades of red, done for a post pub curry crowd who just want the hottest thing on the menu.

Dishoom is the best, Eastzeast was always decent but haven’t been for ages. Bundobust is lovely but all veggie (if that bothers you!) it’s not a traditional curry, more street food.

FillyerBoots · 10/10/2021 22:28

Love dishoom. But wanted to try somewhere different.

Mughli

Nospringchickendipper · 10/10/2021 22:31

Indian Tiffin Room

Fferny1 · 10/10/2021 22:37

Yes, definitely the Tiffin Room. I've never been to the Manchester one but the Cheadle restaurant starters are absolutely the nicest thing I've ever eaten.

FillyerBoots · 11/10/2021 09:49

Mughli looks like a good shout. Thank you.
