I usually hate Sundays

Sunday is usually a dull day of getting stuff done before DP goes back to work and I have to go it alone again. But today is a good day. Productive. Got lots of dog training done. Managed to make a bloody good roast with proper crackling. DS now babbling away on his play gym and Ddog snoozing by the stove. How has everyone else's Sunday been?

I got lots done today as our dc were at a friends. I put away a mountain of washing, changed beds, ironed uniforms, packed away food shop delivery and got in 3 hours work. We’ve just had dinner, dh is washing up and we’re having chocolate cake in a bit.

devildeepbluesea · 10/10/2021 18:13

I've finally de-cluttered my hallway. I'm absolutely knackered, it took hours but it's no longer a place which makes me want to cry.

Only the rest of the house to go now!

MinnieMountain · 10/10/2021 18:15

DH and I went for a 9 mile walk, after which I finally gave into my virus. I’ve spent the rest of the day on the sofa.

Pascha · 10/10/2021 18:18

We did a local village scarecrow trail with the kids which was mildly exhausting but fun. Then b&q for paint testers for the hallway. We're eating hot dogs in front of a terrible children's movie now. Fairly average quietish Sunday really.

Sunday is rugby day in our house, which I always love, but it's much more appealing when the sun shines. Hung around for a beer and a chat afterwards which was nice, and although ds's team lost they played well.
My bro, SIL and mum came over this afternoon for tea and cake. SIL gushed a lot about our new house, which made me feel good since Dh and I are feeling a bit overwhelmed with the amount of work we have to do on it.
Now we're watching Shrek and I'm half-heartedly doing some prep for work this week.
Overall, a good Sunday here.

Sunny here (North Lincs). Nice day, sat in garden, coffee on patio. Did several loads of laundry and hung stuff out. Walked the dog. Cooked gammon, jacket potatoes and roast veg for tea. Vaguely thinking of having a bath and an early night.

For once, I don't have that 'Songs of Praise' feeling when you know it's Sunday night and you are 'back to school' in the morning! Grin

Oh man, these all sound idyllic. DD managed to bring home a bug in her first week of full-time nursery so plans for brunch with antenatal class friends were cancelled and instead we spent the day with a cuddly/grumpy baby, going slightly stir crazy all stuck in the flat together and doing a seemingly never-ending sequence of baby meal prep/feed/clean-up operations. It's my partner's turn to be off if she's still sick tomorrow and for once I am DEFINITELY looking forward to going in to work!

bettertimesarecomingnow · 10/10/2021 20:32

Long lie then out on the hill bringing in the sheep, couple hours work with them then a walk up to their new grazing.

Messed about with the kids and the pony for a bit then Tidied up, cleaning and laundry this afternoon. Chinese for dinner, wine and watching the football.

It's been a nice outdoorsy kind of day and a relaxing evening. Bliss!

Snowdropsandbluebells · 10/10/2021 20:36

Had a quiet day. Cooked a traybake. Playmate and welcome break from the Sunday routine Having a nice evening with netflix

SuperCaliFragalistic · 10/10/2021 20:38

Kids stayed in their PJs until lunchtime which is a rare treat as we're normally up and out. Did some baking, homework and gardening. Then the kids went out to do some sports this afternoon and we came home to a film and some card games.

Atalune · 10/10/2021 20:41

Hungover like a mother fucker all day long.

Slept and intermittently ate/drank to try and feel better. Nothing helped.

Went to see the new James Bond film and ate a McDonald’s.

About to have a curry now.

I have wasted the day entirely. But there you go.

Crunchymum · 10/10/2021 20:42

Lazy morning, I even got a lay-in.

Then off to inlaws for dinner / catch up / wine and meandered home about an hour ago.

Kids in bed and I'm going to have the last glass of wine and watch episode 4 of Squid Game.

GorgonzolaSouffle · 10/10/2021 20:42

I managed to get dh and ds out…..to Dunelm……and I blitzed the house! I had tv on the whole time but my house is now gleaming and I did 2 lots of washing.

MovinOnUp · 10/10/2021 20:47

I've had a lovely day, Thanks for asking.
Sunday is my favourite day of the week.
Had a bacon sandwich for breakfast in bed, apple juice, cup of tea and the Sunday times.
We all hung out in our bedroom, DP and DS played some new PC game they are in love with.
DD and I did the puzzles in the paper and played mario kart.
The three of them took the dog for a walk and came back with a yum-yum for me.
DP made a really lovely vegetable curry for dinner and the kids washed and dried the dishes.
It's been a lovely lazy day.

lovablequalities · 10/10/2021 21:06

Did pancakes and bacon for brunch (9 am in our house because that's theSunday lie in with our bairns 🤨). Got some chickens yesterday so have spent time with the "girls" and given them the gone over cabbages from the veg plot much to their delight. Dh helped the kids sort out playmobil and Lego. Did loads of weeding and sorting in the tunnels. Made almond biscuits. Cooked some peri peri chicken and black beans for tea and listened to Sneaker Pimps. Now sitting with too much wine, reading a trashy book safe in the knowledge that I am on holiday for the next week. 😄😄😄😄

squidgygame · 10/10/2021 21:33

No lie ins here as animals to do but what a beautiful morning to be out...

Breakfast, finally mowed the very hairy lawn then took teenagers out for a hack on their ponies for couple of hours.. Animals again then dinner (homemade chicken nuggets in wraps with sweet potato chips and veg) whilst watching last episode of Squid Game, now watching Friday Night Dinner ..

Cruiser11 · 10/10/2021 21:50

I had a lovely day are two shite Covid filled weekends. I went to Brighton, walked around and had Cafe Rouge lunch sitting outside. Then I had a curry takeaway dinner and now watching Rise of the Footsoilder (the origins) film. I enjoy these type of films.

Love a productive day! What did you teach the dog?

We had a productive day too and took the pups to a Oodle playdate, which was sooo much fun.

Foghead · 10/10/2021 22:42

A mixture here. Met up with a friend this morning for coffee, ds had football and tonnes of homework, tried to do laundry and chores but it’s never ending, nice dinner and dessert (My attempt at simple roast and tarte tatin from apples in our garden) then an evening of watching stranger things with dc and Squid Game. Now more cleaning and getting ready for work tomorrow...
I need another weekend!

ohthestruggles · 10/10/2021 22:43

@MeredithMae we are de-sensitising to traffic and working lots on impulse control. It's slow but steady progress, she's still young but she loves to chase traffic/birds/cyclists so she's a massive flight risk!

We went out on a bike ride of about 12 miles. We haven’t been out on on our bikes since lockdown. Took a packed lunch and ate it in the country park we cycled to. Made roast lamb, had a nap then watched tv most of evening. DS had a football match and dropped his GF off for a very early shift at work.

Bloodybridget · 11/10/2021 04:00

We did a bit of gardening, had a fantastic roast lunch at our rowing club with DP's DS and his partner, then they took us to see the house they're buying (just the outside). Back home, lazed around feeling stuffed, made soup for supper.
