M&S would like me to change my review

PostmanPatsBlackAndWhiteHat · 10/10/2021 14:59

Presumably they will ask me to edit it again if I leave another review that they don’t like but how am I supposed to edit this without mentioning shipping when it arrived broken into lots of pieces…?

M&S would like me to change my review

But that isn't a useful review to anyone else wanting to buy the pot so i can kind of see their point.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 10/10/2021 15:03

Yes your review is not about the product. It’s about the poor customer service you’ve received since then.

LowbrowVictoriana · 10/10/2021 15:04

You can still say the pot was poor quality (if you think it was) as it smashed, but you have to focus on the pot, not M&S customer service or the quality of packaging and postage.
It's a product review.

PostmanPatsBlackAndWhiteHat · 10/10/2021 15:04

It’s useful if you’re planning to buy one, as there are also lots of other published reviews saying that it arrived broken. Mine went further as I’m exasperated with them, it arrived late, which I didn’t mention there, customer services are ignoring emails and I’ve spent around an hour trying to get through to them on the phone!

Tell them you will happily give them a better review when they provide some customer service worthy of it. It is a useful review though as I wouldn't buy something that I know would be sent out in inadequate packaging and likely arrive broken.

Especially knowing that the company would ignore me when contacted about it.

Viviennemary · 10/10/2021 15:05

I can see their point. On Amazon people give a bad review if the book is late or arrived damaged. But I want to know if the book is any good or not. I hope you got a refund. But if I read your review it would put me off ordering it online. Their packaging does leave a lot to be desired.

genericuserneeded · 10/10/2021 15:08

Every retailer does this. Even Amazon has started to clamp down on delivery-related reviews on an item

And sorry but you sound OTT. It has only been 4 days between delivery and your poor review. Give them a chance to respond. They’re not ignoring you, they’re not keeping your money. Yes you have had to wait longer for an email response, but it doesn’t mean they won’t refund you at all. If you tried to open a chargeback with your bank, your bank would reject it as you haven’t given M&S enough time to rectify it

Kingsmead · 10/10/2021 15:09

It annoys me when people leave reviews like yours. Send it back, request a replacement.

PostmanPatsBlackAndWhiteHat · 10/10/2021 15:15

It annoys me when people leave 1 star on Amazon because the book was damaged or arrived late but you can at least read it or comment on the content, this is unusable, think 6+ pieces of pot, so how do they expect me to leave a review without commenting on it being broken! Anyway, thanks for the responses all, I did really just want a rant, as it looks like I am going to have to wave goodbye to my £19.50, as they are currently uncontactable…

They need to proof their rejection message if they’re going to refuse to publish your review.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 10/10/2021 15:16

They want you to edit it, so do so.

Pot poor quality. Packaging not fit for purpose. I want a refund.

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 10/10/2021 15:20

Has it only been 4 days since delivery? If so, I'd maybe give them a chance.

PearlclutchersInc · 10/10/2021 15:21

I got the same from Amazon when I complained bitterly that the item I'd bought for a gift looked as if the warehouse staff had used it as football (scuffed and dented).

PostmanPatsBlackAndWhiteHat · 10/10/2021 15:22

It’s actually been longer since I originally submitted this and still no response from them other than this.

Kingsmead · 10/10/2021 15:31

Why don't you just return the pot? Why is it a waste of money?

PostmanPatsBlackAndWhiteHat · 10/10/2021 15:37

I would have to pay for the return, I live rurally, 7 miles from the nearest post office, plus there is no guarantee they will then refund me if it’s damaged, so I could end up even more out of pocket. Thanks for the suggestion though, I did consider that.

OP posts:
lockdownmadnessdotcom · 10/10/2021 15:48

You wouldn't have to pay for the return - they do as it's clearly not in conformity with the contract if it's broken! If you mean you'll pay in terms of petrol etc, go the post office next time you go shopping - or see if M&S have a process for collecting parcels.

CovidCorvid · 10/10/2021 15:48

I’ve had this before. Complained about the thinness of a cotton top. Said I expected better quality from M&S and they wouldn’t publish it, I suspect due to the second part of my comment.

CorrBlimeyGG · 10/10/2021 15:49

Returns to M&S are free. Just return it when you're passing the post office.

Benjispruce4 · 10/10/2021 15:49

As a customer I’d be put off by the poor packaging and unless M&S commented underneath that they had change that, I would find your review helpful.

Benjispruce4 · 10/10/2021 15:50

Not just any review, this is a Mark’s and Spencer review. How utterly crap is that?

Kingsmead · 10/10/2021 15:54

M&S will collect the parcel - you shouldn't have to drive 7 miles to the Post Office - you sound like you don't have much experience of things going wrong when you order online - you have rights to return a faulty good - you need to do this rather than willingly accepting the loss and complaining about it.

Coyoacan · 10/10/2021 16:01

All the people complaining that the review is not about the quality of the pot, where are people supposed to complain about the quality of the packaging and delivery?

TatianaBis · 10/10/2021 16:02

Why haven’t you just phoned them? They’re normally good at refunding stuff damaged in the post.

TatianaBis · 10/10/2021 16:03

I think you just haven’t got to grips with online shopping OP.
