Bigger schoolbag for small child. Recommendations?

My kids' school uses books that are slightly bigger than A4 (I think it is called foolscap size). Can anyone recommend a first schoolbag that might fit them?

Most schoolbags seem to fit A4 or smaller. There are bigger bags for older children, but they'll drown my kid.

I just need something big enough for one of these foolscap books, a reading book and a water bottle. Any ideas?

We walk to school so waterproof would be good.

How old is the dc? Smiggle bags are huge but have an age limit or around 9

As in age limit I mean they tend to outgrow the loud, gaudy patterns. Not that there's a rule in place.

this style of book bag is a bit bigger than a normal book bag (and tends to be a bit more hardwearing).
