Car seat advice

Hi There.

I am looking for some advice in regards to car seats for my baby due on 31/12/2021 and reviews / feedback on the one I have seen so far.

The problem i am facing and the solution i have in mind is in regards to the iso fix and should someone else require the car seat, the hassle of removing and reinstalling the isofix fitting in my vehicle.

I have seen that the Shop Cybex Cloud Z Car Seat (0-24months) &
Cybex Sirona Z i-size Car Seat (0-48 monts) use the Z base which would mean if i bought both i would have 2 x isofix attachments reducing the need for me to remove the isofix from my car each time my baby travels in another vehicle.

Does anyone know of any brands that use the same isofix in both their 0-2 & 2-7 car seat styles?

Ideally with styles similar to the Cybex Cloud Z which turns to allow the child to be easily loaded into the car.

Thank you for any feedback and advice.

are you expecting to need to use the car seat in different cars?

We had a maxi cosi cabriofix with a base that could be used with a seat belt or isofix, and generally left it in one car (the one we used the most) and belted the seat in if we used the other car or went in someone elses car.

If you are looking at Cybex seats which are fairly expensive, I'd go straight to getting the axkid one premium which will do birth to 23kg (age 5 or 6 i think, depending on childs height and weight) and is the safest car seat in the world. if it was out before our son was born, we would have saved money if we got that instead of buying a group 0 then a ERF seat.

I have the axkid and would recommend it, but not for a newborn - it’s quite upright and doesn’t recline and I would think a newborn’s head would tip forward. I Would have an infant carrier beforehand. Honestly, clicking an isofix base in from one car to another is not a huge issue, they’re made to be easy to fit.

@Lou573 the axkid one premium is supposed to be good for a newborn. it can recline on its isofix base without having to readjust the seat or take it out or anything. the axkid move and minikid are not suitable for newborns though. actually I've just realised that because of the name it looks like I said the axkid one as in generically axkid, but I mean the make axkid model one.

Lots of car seats with isofix bases can also be belted in. Our group one Besafe car seat could be although this was 5 years ago. It’s not always pushed in adverts you will be need to check the details carefully.
