I feel so very strange and can’t shake it off.

I skipped my period this month for some unknown reason. I’m always like clockwork but it just did not arrive. (I haven’t had covid and I’m certainly not pregnant. My vaccine was way back in January).

In the unusual time I’d have PMS symptoms, I have been bloated and retained water but I just feel so odd. I’m exhausted but mood wise I can’t settle (I don’t feel anxious), just weirdly “on edge”, very emotional, snappy and eating everything in sight Blush. This has lasted longer than usual PMS.

But no period! I’m only 32 so I don’t think I’m menopausal . I wish it would just hurry up so I can get out of this awful limbo I’m in.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you done a pregnancy test?

MickyBlueEyes · 09/10/2021 16:25

How late is your period?

SwingItBat · 09/10/2021 16:26

I am 100% not pregnant. I’m 8 days late and this is very very unusual for me .

Your hormone levels might be changing.

SwingItBat · 09/10/2021 16:29

@Aquamarine1029 for what reason though? Could it be peri menopause? Shock

How old are you?

itsgettingwierd · 09/10/2021 16:32

I started getting hormonal migraines around that age and the GP said your hormones do change around 30.

I'm now on northisterone daily as I can't be allowed to bleed. I still get these symptoms. But no period. So it could be something to do with your progesterone levels adjusting as that's what my pills are.

SwingItBat · 09/10/2021 16:45

I’m 32.

You've not recently changed your contraceptive have you? My cycle was very irregular after coming off the pill, and I once completely skipped a period for no obvious reason, I wasn't pregnant.

SwingItBat · 09/10/2021 16:50

I’ve never used hormonal contraception; currently single too.

Haven't there been reports of people's periods changing post vaccine? Maybe that?

PartyStory · 09/10/2021 16:52

I took a short course of the pill to delay my period when it was due to coincide with a holiday. I remember disliking it because of the waiting/stuck feeling you describe.

Maybe your period is just delayed. Have you traveled anywhere or had trouble sleeping or stress or illness?

SophieKat1982 · 09/10/2021 16:54

Possibly thyroid imbalance? I’d book a GP appointment, they’ll be able to run some tests.

furbabymama87 · 09/10/2021 17:02

I'm 33 and I've noticed my periods that were once like clockwork every 28 days now going into a longer and longer cycle. Last month's period was on time but the cycles before that were a week late. I'm sterilised though so could be related to that but I also get the bloated, wanting to eat everything in sight feeling.

AleynEivlys · 09/10/2021 17:03

Have you lost/gained weight, exercised a lot, got ill around the time of ovulation, been under a lot of stress lately?

I had this the cycle just gone. In the end my period did come, but several days late. I was sure I must be pregnant (not that I wanted to be!) and I think because of that my usual PMS symptoms were hugely exacerbated, probably because I was hyper-focusing on every twinge and emotion.

In the end, I put it down to developing a cold around the time I would have normally ovulated. I'm hoping for a more normal cycle this month!

Hope things work out for you too. It's probably just one of those weird things and will resolve itself in time.

I have noticed my periods have changed since having the Pfizer vaccine. They're irregular and I bleed for up to ten days 😭
Really hoping they'll settle down over the next few months
