Online cake delivery

I have covid and I'm feeling rather sorry for myself. Lots of work stress too.

I need cake! Please can anyone tell me a good online cake retailer who will deliver to my door? I want proper cake, not processed shite. Don't like anything with too much buttercream. Not really into chocolate cake.

I accept that I may have to wait a couple of days before said cake arrives. I'm resigned to that, even though I really want it now!!

Any recommendations, please?!

I’ve had good experiences with both Bad Brownies and Chummy’s Bakery. I ordered brownies from both though so not sure if it fits your requirement for ‘nothing too chocolatey’

We love the sharing sponges from sponge.co.uk

I've ordered afternoon tea from cutter & squidge and the recipient (very hard to please!) said it was wonderful.

I’ve been recommended Sponge (who do cute cake cards with two slices as well as big cakes) and Betty’s.

Ordered Bettys when lockdown started as craved something sweet. Fruit loaf, sponge cake and french fancies were delicious.

Only had Sponge as a big cake and it was gorgeous - real home made flavour.

Try Just Eat, we have lots of local restaurants and cafes delivering cakes, giant slices or cupcakes from various places.

Sponge is excellent , we get the GF ones as well and they are also excellent . Hope you feel better soon

Cake32, they are a small business based in Crieff, and they do only send out once a week and you get a mixed box of cakes and treats. But they are seriously amazing.

We've also used Bumble and Goose for cookies.

Cupalicious Cakes, they sell out fast though!

Coffeesnob11 · 09/10/2021 13:57

Check on the nextdoor app. Loads of local home bakers who could probably drop it off today.

Betty’s lemon and lime loaf cake, stem ginger loaf cake, Victoria Sponge, tea loaf, macarons, Florentines, French fancies. Mmmmm

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 09/10/2021 14:07

Piglets Pantry if you fancy an afternoon tea. You can get it for one, but it’s very generous.
