What toys does your Y6 DS like playing with?

DS is 11 in a few weeks and has asked for “surprises”. He still likes toys and gadgets, but I’m not sure what to get him. Any recommendations welcome. He loves Lego (but has tons of it), fossils/gemstones, Transformers, Minecraft, Star Wars, Dr Who….any ideas?

Mine is the same age and it's getting tricky...
He loves his Sphero droid but it's incredibly temperamental.
Mine is quite into cooking so maybe things like a waffle maker or ice cream maker (not toys but quite fun)

Board games - mine has Star Wars Monopoly and Harry Potter Labyrinth which are both good.

Gravitrax?

A Warhammer starter set?
Mine adores his Alexa speaker, spends hours in his room listening to bizarre music choice!

The Dude Perfect book (& clothes) are a hit with that age too.

Mines a dd, but she likes her skateboard, hoverkart and gravitrax. She's getting a Switch for Christmas.

She also gets good use from a rock tumbler she got a few years ago (but the noise is incessant and irritating).

My 11 year old asked for a stunt scooter (but if a craze at school at the moment). On top of that I'm getting him a Harry Potter T-shirt, a minecraft Christmas T-shirt and a couple of books.
He really only plays with Lego, Gravitrax, geomag and dominoes. Occasionally jigsaws (1000 piece).
Meccano?
Risk, board game was an unexpected hit.

He’s got Gravitrax and a rock tumbler - sounds like our kids have similar interests! Hmm, maybe a stunt scooter would be good.

DS wants some basic Lego blocks. We have a massive amount of Lego from kits over the years, but a surprisingly poor ratio of blocks.

Just bought a "V8 engine" circuits kit from Costco. And a history of engineering book.

He's begun looking up Warhammer so that will be a handy money pit for birthdays/ Christmas Grin

The trouble is he has birthday and Christmas virtually together and really loves playing with sticks, boxes and blankets. He'll pull the Duplo, train track and toy cars out still but there's more than enough built up over the years!
It's very sweet, but not helpful for buying a sensible number of gifts.
