Banks that allow you to open sub accounts?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a bank that allows you to open multiple sub accounts?

I'd like to create sub accounts to help me save, i.e Christmas, Holidays, Car and so on.

Is there such a thing?

Thanks!

Monzo!
It's great, you start by downloading the app and then follow the steps to set up an account.

I do this with Halifax. I have one current account and multiple savings accounts which I can rename anything I like.

Starling.

Starling bank is the best I have come across, and it took about 5 minutes to open the account. The saving spaces are so great to separate savings into different pots.

Monzo.

bookish83 · 07/10/2021 20:06

Lloyds let you and name them as you like too

BovrilonToast · 07/10/2021 20:08

I second Starling. I have my business and personal accounts with them. They are fab.

Robertthebrucesthistle · 07/10/2021 20:11

Monzo. So easy to set up separate pots

itispersonal · 07/10/2021 20:12

Any bank will let you open several accounts with them.

I have:
A current account - my monthly spends
Bills account
Xmas saves account
Annual insurances/ car repair account
Food spend account
Petrol account
Holiday account
Everyday savings (which can touch)
Savings (can't touch)

itispersonal · 07/10/2021 20:13

All with the same bank

Notthisnotthat · 07/10/2021 20:14

I have a TSB spend and save account, can create "pots" for saving for different things.

ShagMeRiggins · 07/10/2021 20:14

I get the impression that with Lloyds and other traditional banks you have to go through the rigamarole of opening multiple separate accounts rather than one account you can simply sub out many times for various pots. No?

SylvanasWindrunner · 07/10/2021 20:14

Another vote for Monzo! So easy to set up pots and you can pay certain things from different pots too.

RedBonnet · 07/10/2021 20:17

Another one for Monzo, it's brilliant, but not on the high street - it's online/phone only

MBM18 · 08/10/2021 15:56

Thanks for the replies!

I took a look at both Monzo and Starling and decided to go with Monzo.
I've now opened multiple "saving pots", that's exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks for all your recommendations Smile
