I’m trying to find a cardigan something maybe like this, but one that doesn’t have any wool in it. Any ideas?

Isn’t mohair wool? What’s wrong with wool? Is it too itchy? Have a look on Etsy. I love fairisle knitwear.

Do you knit (or know a knitter who takes commissions), @TaRaLa? You could get it knitted in cotton, acrylic, bamboo etc - and the range of colours available is amazing.

Do you want totally synthetic

Yes needs to be 100% no wool so I can wear it without getting a rash/being I’ll.

That’s a good idea @SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius although I don’t know anyone and appreciate the time it would take to hand knit something like this would be very expensive. Will have a look see on Etsy.

Bumping now it’s jumper season. Wondering if I can get away with alpaca after reading about the allergy side of things.

Weird Fish may have something, although most of their fair Isle items are jumpers. No wool though in any of them. www.weirdfish.co.uk/p/women/i/fenna-longline-fairisle-cardigan-pearl-grey-18686

Whoops, dithered too much my size went when I went to buy it! Now I really need new suggestions as I wanted that one and can’t find it anywhere now. Poo.

The next one is lovely in the picture but is mostly acrylic so would not be warm! I have a Brora wool cardi which is gorgeous and warm - I waited for sale. They also do cashmere fairisle which is lovely but very very expensive ( even in sale)
Could you wear polo neck or nigh neck long sleeved cotton underneath?

Those Shetland wool jumpers are absolutely gorgeous - what a great find !

I find pure wool itchy - I can’t wear it, and I don’t like knitting or crocheting with it - but alpaca does seem much less itchy. There are some other lovely fibres out there - cotton, cotton and silk, bamboo - and they come in such gorgeous colours too.

If you go to Wool Warehouse you can see a wide range of the yarns and colours that are available.

TaRaLa · 20/10/2021 23:32

@LunaTheCat unfortunately I need to avoid wool 100% so it’s more a comfort thing and design than for buying for the wool and warmth

Ditto the Shetland Wool - beautiful and cheaper than Brora.
