Nibbles at hotel help!

I’m wondering if anyone can help me as my mind has drawn a blank!

I have booked a hotel for the evening as a surprise for my partner after a very hardworking few months. The plan will be:
Have him travel from work to the city centre on the Friday
Meet him and surprise him with the hotel (I’ll pack him a bag) around 6pm
Dinner is at 8.45pm

He’ll be hungry so I was planning on getting something to have at the hotel to tide us over but I can’t think? Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Pringles? A pork pie? Cake? Or get something deliveroo’d from nearby?

Well two votes for Pringles.

Think that’s the thread closed.

Crisps, nuts, olives, anything out the tapas / picnic range in the supermarket and beer / wine/ prosecco.

What sort of evening will it be?

If its romantic, I'd do pick up some anti pasti, choc dipped strawberries, a bottle of fizz.

Alternatively if they have a pool/spa and you are planning some time there before dinner I'd scoff a couple of pork pies and a bottle of corona, then go for a dip.

Another alternative if city centre is to look for a local cocktail bar and get some nibbles and a drink.

It’s a romantic evening but I think I’ll have to get Pringles with a print out of this thread Grin

Pombears!

Or more seriously: I recently bought from one of the Waitrose outlets at a motorway service station, a pot from the salad section which was 8 hard boiled quails eggs with some truffled mayonnaise to dip them in. I was bowled over by how delicious they were. If my partner was wanting to surprise me with snacks a box of them and a glass of chilled bubbly would be perfect.
