Starting a small business in the current climate?

Hit me with your small business ideas! I have decided I want to work for myself.

Not what you're looking for, but my sister worked with a business coach who says "don't think about what you can sell or do, think of things that you want to do that won't even feel like work".

She made her scrap all her money making ideas, and come up with a lifestyle she wanted that happened to include being paid for some of it. Otherwise it's just like being employed, except you have to worry about the responsibilities of running the joint too.

(I'm not trying to be mean or unhelpful - going through the same thing! But all my random "ideas" were gumph that I thought people would pay for. Only you know what you like doing.)
